agentic deal flow, from signal to first touch
agentic deal flow is the idea that an agent - not an analyst clicking through databases - runs your top of funnel. it finds companies, qualifies them against your thesis, and drafts the first outreach. the missing piece is a signal source the agent can actually query. that's frontrun.
what is agentic deal flow?
agentic deal flow is deal sourcing run by an ai agent instead of a person. the agent surfaces candidate companies, enriches the founders, scores them against your investment thesis, and prepares outreach, with a human reviewing and deciding. it depends on two things: a capable agent (claude code, cursor) and a data source the agent can reach through a tool interface. frontrun is that source, exposed as an mcp server so the agent sources from pre-round investor behavior, not from announced rounds everyone already sees.
the agent is only as early as its data
an agent pointed at public databases finds the same announced deals every other fund's agent finds. feed it a source competitors can't query - live investor follow-graph convergence - and it sources companies before they're companies. frontrun's mcp server exposes 29 tools for exactly this: detect new follows, surface convergence, classify entities, pull founder and funding data.
one prompt, the whole loop
with frontrun connected, a single prompt runs discovery to draft: surface this week's converging companies, enrich each founder, rank by thesis fit, draft outreach. install is one command - npx frontrun-mcp-server --setup - and the agent hits the sign-in wall only at first use, where a 7-day trial begins.
| step | what the agent does | frontrun tool |
|---|---|---|
| Source | find pre-round companies | convergence + new-follow detection |
| Qualify | score against your thesis | entity classification + thesis search |
| Enrich | pull founder & funding context | founder + funding lookups |
| Draft | write the first outreach | your agent, on frontrun's data |
