46 startups we flagged before they raised (2026)

July 27, 2026·data·← all articles

tl;dr: frontrun flagged 46 companies before their funding round was announced. average lead time 83 days, longest 213. together they raised $2.36B after we flagged them. the full table, with every source, is at /fundraises.

anyone can write about a round after it's announced. a dozen sites do it within hours, and they all say the same thing, because they're all reading the same press release.

the only interesting question is who saw it first, and that's a question almost nobody can answer with a date.

we can, because the flag is recorded when it happens, not reconstructed afterwards. here's the whole list.

what the numbers say

  • 46 rounds flagged before announcement
  • 83 days of average lead time
  • 213 days on the longest
  • $2.36B raised by those companies after we flagged them

the earliest calls

  • Orthogonal - flagged dec 23 2025 at 417 followers. $4.3M led by Pantera Capital, announced jul 24. 213 days early.
  • Ornn - flagged feb 4 at 763 followers. $33M led by a16z. 162 days early.
  • naturalpay - flagged feb 11 at 1,269 followers. $30M series A led by Forerunner. 159 days early.
  • Glint - flagged jan 28 at 797 followers. $580K. 172 days early.

the ones that were tiny when we saw them

lead time is one measure. follower count at the moment of the flag is the other, and it's the one that shows what the signal actually is.

  • Arcturus had 13 followers when tracked investors started following it. $8M, 24 days later.
  • Vorflux had 20 followers. $15M, 36 days later.
  • 1001 AI had 146 followers. $30M, 12 days later.

none of those companies were findable by follower count, press, or product launch at the time. they were findable by who had just started paying attention to them.

how a company gets on this list

frontrun watches the follow graphs of 1,000+ tracked venture investors on X. when several of them start following the same small company, that convergence is logged with a date. months later, some of those companies announce a round. this list is every case where our flag came first.

three rules keep it honest:

  1. a 7-day minimum lead. flag a company less than a week before its round and the raise was probably already circulating. that's not a call, so it doesn't count.
  2. no backfill dates. companies added to the catalog during a bulk import are excluded entirely. an import date is a data-entry date, not a detection.
  3. a source on every round. if we can't link the announcement, the round isn't listed. the round amounts in the table are the links.

that last rule costs us rows. it's the point.

the list that actually matters

these 46 already raised, which makes them proof rather than opportunity. the useful version of this list is the one where the round hasn't happened yet: the companies getting the same investor convergence right now.
